Consideration of a 4 million ton grain terminal project postponed in Mykolaiv

The deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council postponed consideration of the Rivergate company’s appeal regarding the project of a large sea terminal based on the Okean Shipyard.

This was discussed at a meeting of the standing committee on economic and investment policy, writes Intent.

The head of Rivergate LLC Oksana Syebova reported that before the start of the full-scale war, the company planned to build a sea terminal with a capacity of about 4 million tons of grain transshipment per year on the territory of the former Okean Shipyard.

The project also provided for the creation of at least 150 jobs, but its implementation was stopped by the war. Syebova suggested listening to some of the information about the enterprise without an online broadcast for security reasons.

One of the members of the committee spoke out against the closed format, since the discussion concerned tax benefits. According to him, the rules for granting preferences should be transparent and the same for all enterprises in the community.

As a result, the deputies postponed consideration of the appeal of Rivergate and several other companies. Before the next meeting, the companies must determine whether their reports contain sensitive information, after which the commission will choose a discussion format.

Earlier, USM reported that on the afternoon of July 28, the Russians carried out a combined attack on the Mykolaiv region, previously using Shahed strike UAVs, “KAB” missiles, and “Banderol” UAVs.
