Former Minister of Agricultural Policy Solskyi’s arrest extended, but bail reduced to UAH 49.9 million

The former Minister of Agrarian Policy will remain in custody until September 27 in the case of fraud with the property of “Volytsia-Agro”.
The court extended the term of detention of the former Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky in the case of fraud at the enterprise “Volytsia Agro”. This was reported by “Glavkom” with reference to the court registry.
At the same time, the amount of bail for the former owner was reduced from 63.7 million UAH to 49.92 million UAH. In the event of posting bail, Solskyi must fulfill a number of obligations imposed by the court. In particular, he must appear at the summons of the prosecutor, investigator and court, not leave the settlement without appropriate permission, report a change of residence or work, not communicate with witnesses in the case and surrender foreign passports.
During the meeting, the prosecutor and investigator insisted on the need to conduct additional investigative actions. Among them are the analysis of bank information on the movement of funds of LLC “Volitsa Agro”, the attachment of the conclusion of the forensic economic examination and the receipt of the conclusion of the State Audit Service on the contractual relations between PVKF “Podillia Agroproduct” and LLC “Volitsa Agro”.
The court also extended the preventive measures for two other defendants in the proceedings. The director of “Volitsa-Agro” Oleksandr Prokopets was left under night house arrest, and the technical director of the company was continued in custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 832 thousand UAH.
As a reminder, the investigation is checking the circumstances of the transaction, under which PVKF “Podillia-Agroproduct” transferred about 62.7 million UAH for 7 thousand tons of corn allegedly available at the elevator of “Volitsa-Agro”. According to the investigation, the buyer could have been misled about the actual availability of grain, and Mykola Solskyi allegedly, using his authority in the agricultural market, assured the company’s representatives of the safety of the transaction.
This is a separate criminal case from the case of seizure of state lands in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In the land case, the NABU and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office suspect Solskyi and other defendants of illegally seizing 1,250 land plots with a total area of about 2,493 hectares, the value of which was estimated at more than UAH 291 million.
Earlier this summer, the court seized a port asset in Chornomorsk belonging to a company from Solsky’s orbit.
