About 125 vessels have accumulated on Sulina due to a week-long break in navigation

The queue of vessels continues to grow at the approaches to the Sulina Canal due to the prolonged closure of navigation due to bad weather.

This was reported by Avalon Shipping Operations Manager Kateryna Kononenko.

According to her, Sulina has been closed to shipping for almost a week.

Currently, about 80 vessels are waiting to enter the canal, and another 45 to exit. Of these, 15 vessels are under the agency of Avalon Shipping.

After the resumption of navigation, it is planned to attract the maximum possible number of pilots in the 36-44 mile section during the first days, in order to first of all reduce the queue for exit and reduce congestion on the Danube faster.

According to Kononenko, the coming days after the opening of the canal will be very busy due to a significant accumulation of vessels.

Earlier, USM reported that the Sulina Canal was closed due to bad weather, and the queue of vessels has increased again.
