Russia attacks merchant ship carrying oil in Black Sea: one dead, seven injured


A Russian drone hit a Marshall Islands-flagged merchant ship carrying rapeseed oil in the Black Sea.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper and the hipping Administration.

The ship was loaded with rapeseed oil. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out in the area of ​​the superstructure.

According to the Shipping Administration, a crew member, a steward, died as a result of the attack. Seven more people were injured.

The Odesa Military Administration Oleh stated that strikes on civilian shipping and port infrastructure pose a threat to global food security.

The Shipping Administration also emphasized that attacks on merchant ships pose risks to the safety of navigation and the stability of international food supply chains.
