Ukrainian seafarers undergo training on the “Island” cutter in the USA again

Yet another Ukrainian crew, which is preparing for service on an Island-class patrol boat, arrived in the United States for training in the management and operation of the vessel.

Trainings are taking place in Baltimore (Maryland, USA), the press service of the Naval Forces of Ukraine reports. The boat itself will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.

“The crew will directly study on a patrol boat, which is finishing repair and restoration work, and is undergoing planned preparation and maintenance for the transfer of the Ukrainian Navy to the Armed Forces of Ukraine this year,” the department highlighted.

As USM previously reported, the Ukrainian Navy has begun to form a crew for the first Ada-class corvette. Now the ship is being built in Turkey. First, theoretical training waits for the future crew, and then – training in qualified professions.
