Ukroboronprom and Babcock signed an agreement on the development of the Ukrainian Navy
The state concern “Ukroboronprom” and the international group of companies Babcock International have signed an agreement on cooperation in expanding the capabilities of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
The document was signed in London during the International Defense Technology Exhibition DSEI-2021, Militarny reports.
The talks were chaired by Ukroboronprom CEO Yuriy Gusev in the presence of Jeremy Queen, UK Minister for Defense Procurement.
The signing of the agreement allows the further development of the trilateral Memorandum of Supply, signed on June 21st in Odesa between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the UK government and Babcock. The document provides for cooperation and joint implementation of Ukrainian naval projects within the framework of the Ukrainian Naval Capabilities Enhancement Program (UNCEP).
“Our cooperation will become a driver for the restoration of the shipbuilding industry in Ukraine,” said Yuriy Gusev, General Director of Ukroboronprom.
British Babcock International provides services in the field of aerospace, defense and nuclear engineering. The company participated in the assembly of aircraft carriers and frigates for the Royal Navy of Great Britain.
