Ukraine wants to develop container transportation with Slovakia


Ukraine is interested in joint work Slovakia on developing railway container transportation on the Asia-Europe route.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger in Uzhgorod.

“In the transport sector, an important component of cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia may be the provision of railway container transportation on the Asia-Europe route. The carrying capacity of the Ukrainian railways allows, and we are interested in attracting additional cargo traffic through the territory of Ukraine”, the Ukrainian Prime Minister commented.

Shmygal also noted that the creation of intermodal logistics terminals for handling cargo at the Ukrainian-Slovak border is a promising area of ​​cooperation with Slovakia.

According to the Prime Minister, the creation of such terminals will contribute to stronger cooperation between the countries and “will give a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of the border regions of Ukraine and Slovakia”.
