13 ships with agricultural products left the ports of Great Odesa

As part of the “grain initiative”, on October 9, 13 ships left the ports of Great Odessa.

A total of 230.7 thousand tons of agricultural products for the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe are carried on 13 vessels, the Ministry of Infrastructure reports.

In the caravan, consists namely of bulkers Argonaut with 71 thousand tons of wheat for Indonesia, Ali A with 7 thousand tons for Lebanon, and Mehmet Bey with 8 thousand tons of soybeans for Egypt.

Since the beginning of the “grain corridor”, 305 ships have sent 6.8 million tons of Ukrainian food to Asia, Europe and Africa.

During  the last few weeks, the number of ships in caravans heading from the ports of Great Odesa along the “grain corridor” has significantly increased. Ukraine plans to make room in the elevators for the grain of the new crop. Also, the term of validity of the Istanbul agreements expires on November 18-19, and the further fate of the agreements is unknown, so Ukraine aims to send as much production as possible in the remaining time.

At the same time, with the number of shipments, the queues of ships in Istanbul the queues of ships in Istanbul  heading to and from Ukrainian ports are growing. Since mid-September, the waiting time for inspection of vessels has increased to 10-15 days. To compare, in the first six days of operation of the Istanbul Agreements, the vessels were waiting for an inspection only for 5-6 days.
