Ukraine can create an agricultural hub in an African port

Ukraine is considering the port of Dakar in Senegal as a place to create a logistics hub for transshipment of Ukrainian agricultural products for African countries.

Ukraine is ready to increase the volume of exports of agricultural products and consider the possibility of implementing new logistics projects in Senegal. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

In general, the government of Ukraine is looking for opportunities to store Ukrainian grain in the so-called grain hubs. Their creation will contribute to the predictability of sales, the stabilization of food prices for African countries, and will add confidence in the necessary volumes and quality of grain.

“The President of Ukraine and the government are considering the expansion of trade relations with West African countries, in particular, the creation of joint logistics projects. This will make it possible to predictably conduct business, stabilize prices and gain confidence in the quality of grain and its supply,” said Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi.

It is reported that the minister visited the port of Dakar, through which 95% of food is imported into the country. The representatives of Senegal confirmed their interest in cooperation and are ready to consider the possibility of implementing joint logistics projects.
