Ukraine invited Kuwait to participate in the Grain from Ukraine initiative
Ukraine offered Kuwait to join the humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine.
The Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa, Maksym Subkh, in a telephone conversation called on the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Mansur Al-Otaibi, to participate in the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported.
The parties exchanged views on the prospects for intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and Kuwait in the political and economic spheres. The representative of Kuwait emphasized the state’s solidarity with Ukraine in the context of the ongoing armed aggression of russian federation, which is a gross violation of the principles of the UN Charter.
We will remind you that the Grain from Ukraine program for food aid to African and Asian countries was launched on November 26 at the founding International Summit on Food Security.
The project envisages that Ukraine directs part of the harvested wheat to purchase for those countries where there are already problems of hunger. Part of the export grain can be purchased by the states participating in the project. The program aims to provide at least 5 million people with agricultural products by the end of spring 2023.
