Agricultural exports from Ukraine decreased by 50–60% due to logistics crisis — Nibulon

Ukraine currently exports about 2 million tons of agricultural products per month with a potential of 5–6 million tons, and the cost of sea logistics has increased approximately fivefold.

This was reported by Nibulon Trade Director Volodymyr Slavinskyi during an export forum, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to him, in general, the pace of agricultural exports in the industry is now 50–60% lower than the potential. At Nibulon, monthly export volumes have decreased by approximately 25–30% compared to last year and the period until June.

Slavinsky called one of the main reasons the complication and increase in the cost of logistics via sea, Danube and land routes.

According to the company, the cost of sea logistics has increased from approximately $20 to $100, and the delivery time from seven to 30 days. Because of this, Nibulon is forced to allocate more than 20% more working capital to logistics.

The company also noted that transportation across the Danube has become more complicated and expensive. Among other problems, Slavinsky cited a shortage of personnel and difficulties with Ukrainian seafarers obtaining qualification documents for work on the Danube.

Nibulon proposes to create a mechanism of state and international financial guarantees that would allow Ukrainian companies to attract working capital from Western banks at more affordable rates. USM previously reported that Nibulon needs about $170 million in financing for the 2026/27 season.
