Berth №3 will be repaired in the port of Mariupol
In the Mariupol seaport, the hydrotechnical part of the berth №3, which is on the balance sheet of the Mariupol branch of the State Enterprise “USPA” (Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority), is being reconstructed.
According to the Port Authority, the work will be carried out by Enterprise Mast-Bud LLC.
The bilateral agreement was signed on July 26th. During the signing of the agreement, participants has reviewed the project and the results of engineering surveys of the berth. According to the tender documents, the repair of the berth will cost UAH 122 million (USD 4.5 million), and it should be completed in 2021-22.
Thus, the reconstruction of berth №3 in the port is part of the project to create a cluster of agro-industrial cargo.
The project envisages not only the reconstruction of berth №3, but also №2 and №4 of berths. This, by the opinion of the Port Authority, will ensure further growth of cargo turnover.
The project itself was considered back in June 2017. Then the USPA and SE “Mariupol Commercial Sea Port” has signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the construction of a grain cargo transshipment complex in the rear part of berths №3-4 of the Mariupol port. According to the agreements, the USPA will reconstruct the hydrotechnical part of berths №3-4 and carry out dredging works near the berths.
