Egypt bought 180 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat

Egypt purchased 300 thousand tons of wheat at an international tender, more than half of it is Ukrainian origin.

The expected delivery date is from February 15th to March 3rd next year. The purchase includes 180 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat, 60 thousand tons of French and the same amount – Romanian, reports Refinitiv Agriculture.

Egypt purchased wheat from Ukraine from the following suppliers:

  • 60 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat from Nibulon at a price of $335 per tonne FOB with a freight rate of $24.60 per tonne, which is equivalent to $359.60 per tonne on a C&F basis;
  • 60 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat from Olam at a price of $337.25 per tonne FOB with a freight rate of $24.00 per tonne, which is equivalent to $361.25 per tonne on a C&F basis;
  • 60 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat from Inerco at a price of $337.25 per tonne FOB with a freight rate of $24.00 per tonne, which is equivalent to $361.25 per tonne on a C&F basis.

Let us remind you that Argentina and Australia entered the grain market after the harvest in December. Can they “take away” part of Ukrainian exports?
