Grain agreement: Vessels are still awaiting entry inspection
Despite the continuation of the Grain Agreement, not a single vessel has been inspected so far. Currently, 62 vessels remain awaiting entry inspections.
The Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Yuriy Vaskov, stated that the export of agricultural goods through the Black Sea has not yet been resumed within the framework of the grain agreement, despite its extension. He said this in an interview with Voice of America .
According to Vaskov, Ukraine, the UN and Turkey believe that yesterday the grain agreement was simply unblocked, and not extended, because on March 17, its validity was extended for 120 days, and not for 60, as Russia claimed.
“It is unlocked so far in words. Because, despite yesterday’s statements, not a single vessel has been inspected yesterday and today. That is, 62 vessels remain awaiting entry inspections. None has been agreed upon by all parties to the agreement, namely Russia,” the official said.
We will remind, on May 17, the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov, announced that the Grain Agreement was unblocked and it will continue to operate until July 18.
