Infrastructure for the first floating power plant is being built in Ukraine

This week, the national energy company “Ukrenergo” will start building the infrastructure to connect the first floating power plant with a capacity of 250 MW.

This was reported by acting the chairman of the board of the company, Oleksiy Brecht, writes LIGA.net.

According to him, last week the Cabinet of Ministers adopted an order regarding the construction of floating power stations.

“Our company, as one of the participants in this process, is already starting the construction of the relevant infrastructure this week. This will give the unified energy system of Ukraine an additional 250 MW of capacity,” said Oleksiy Brecht at an external meeting of the Energy Committee of the Verkhovna Rada.

It will be recalled that in June the head of Odesa Odesa Regional Military Administration spoke about plans to install three floating stations with a capacity of 250 MW each in the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa and Izmail. The Turkish company Karpowership was to become the provider of this service.

Already in September, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that regulates the purchase of services for the rental of gas-piston power plants on special vessels and their connection to the mainland infrastructure.
