Maersk explained what determines the timing of work resumption in Ukraine

Feeder operator Maersk Ukraine emphasizes that the situation in the ports has deteriorated critically, and shipowners are massively refusing to enter the ports.

This was stated in a comment to USM  by Maersk Ukraine CEO Roman Koloyanov.

According to him, the timing of the company’s resumption of work through the Black Sea Fish Port will depend on the security situation.

“The situation in the ports of Ukraine, unfortunately, has deteriorated critically. I do not have complete information about the consequences of the attacks, it is better to ask the military. But now we are observing that shipowners are massively refusing to enter the ports as a result of targeted attacks on the civilian fleet by the Russian Federation,” said the CEO of Maersk Ukraine.

Recall that on July 21, it became known that due to shelling of port infrastructure by the Russian Federation, Maersk temporarily suspended container service through the Black Sea Fish Port. This decision was made due to the current security situation, which affects the carrier’s operational activities.

USM previously reported that Maersk resumed regular container service with the port of Chornomorsk in June 2024. In October of the same year, the operator launched a direct feeder route between Chornomorsk, Constanta and Port Said.
