Military sailors destroyed a sea mine of the Second World War

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a sea mine from the Second World War.

The mine was discovered near the coast in southern Ukraine. The ammunition was destroyed, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

“The Second World War continues to remind of itself as a mine danger in the present. This gives us an understanding that the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, even after our victory, will continue to threaten civil shipping and other maritime activities for more than one decade,” the department said.

The Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reminded that in case of detection of suspicious or explosive objects, in no case should you approach them, touch them or try to move/dispose of them yourself. If you find such items, notify the appropriate services.

Also, the ban on staying on unverified parts of the coast continues to apply in the region.

We will remind, earlier in June, military sailors neutralized a sea mine discovered on the coast of Odesa.
