Ministry of Agrarian Policy: Ukraine expects to increase exports through Polish ports

Ukraine is negotiating with Poland to increase rail transit and plans to increase exports through Polish ports.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Golovnya, during the LFM 2026, AgroPortal reports.

According to him, there is already a preliminary agreement with the Polish Minister of Infrastructure to increase the volume of transportation through four railway crossings to 600 thousand tons. Ukraine also expects to reach about 6.5 million tons of exports through Polish ports during 2026-2027.

Golovnya noted that Polish business is interested in working with Ukrainian cargo, but companies want to have long-term contracts, in particular for a year. The Deputy Minister said that there are already initial agreements on the monthly transportation of 20 thousand tons with Polish transport companies and the port of Gdansk.

“We are gradually seeing that business is also, so to speak, breaking through in Poland, and I am sure that this is just the beginning and will continue,” said Golovnya.

Separately, he reported that Ukraine is counting on expanding export opportunities through Romania. According to him, after the end of the active period of export of the Romanian harvest in mid-October – November, more opportunities may open up for Ukrainian cargo through the port of Constanta.
