Ukraine counts on EU support for stable operation of the maritime corridor, — Sybiha

Ukraine is counting on the EU’s support to ensure the stable operation of the maritime corridor and the continuous export of Ukrainian food to world markets.

This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha on the social network X.

The Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry discussed with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas Russia’s attempts to undermine the work of the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

According to the minister, Ukraine is counting on the support of the European Union to ensure the stable operation of the corridor and the continuation of the export of Ukrainian food to global markets.

“Food security should never be a hostage to Russian aggression,” Sybiha emphasized.

The parties also coordinated actions in the field of food security on the eve of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly and agreed on further joint steps.

Separately, Sibiga informed Kallas about the consequences of another massive Russian attack on Ukraine and stressed the need to strengthen Ukrainian air defense, in particular, means of countering ballistic missiles.

The minister also called for strengthening sanctions against the production of Russian ballistic missiles and the entire infrastructure that ensures their creation.

USM previously reported that the issue of grain exports by sea would be one of the topics of future negotiations.
