MIU introduces new rules for river transport
The Ministry of Infrastructure has published a draft order approving the rules for the tranportation of cargoes, passengers and luggage by inland water transport.
The document was developed to implement the provisions of Part 2 of Article 5, Part 1 and 4 of Article 56 and part 4 of Article 57 of the Law “On Inland Waterway Transport”, which comes into force on January 1st.
Here are some of the rules for the carriage of goods by inland waterways:
- the carrier of the cargo is obliged to follow the requirements for the safety of navigation and the prevention of environmental pollution;
- for the carriage of goods, it is necessary to have permits;
- when transporting your own cargo, a special bill of lading is drawn up;
- an internal bill of lading is drawn up for each inland waterway carriage.
an internal bill of lading is drawn up for each inland waterway carriage.
More details on the document can be found on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
Let us note that the publication date of the draft order is December 21st. However, MIU published it today, December 22nd. The same situation is observed with other draft orders on IWT published by the Ministry of Infrastructure in recent days – they appear on the website retroactively.
Therefore, the USM office appeal to the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure with a request to be more careful when publishing documents and not to mislead visitors to the official website of the MIU.
