Moldova approved a discount for the transit of Ukrainian products for 2024

The discount for the transportation of Ukrainian cargo through the territory of Moldova, in particular, to Romanian ports, will be 27%.

According to the results of the agreements between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, in 2024 a discount will apply to the transit transportation of Ukrainian grain through the neighboring state. It will be 27% of current tariffs, the press service of the Ministry of Reintegration reported.

In total, Ukraine and Moldova signed 7 draft protocols last month. They provide for the organization of joint control at checkpoints across the state border. The countries will also build a border crossing across the Dnister River in the area of the settlements of Yampil and Koseut.

We will remind, due to the blockade of the ports by the Russian invaders, a large part of Ukrainian exports goes to Romanian ports through the territory of Moldova. Thus, in November, Ukraine, Moldova and Romania signed an agreement on improving the transport process in the direction Reni – Giurgiulesti – Galati – Larga.

Also recently, the European Commission allocated 126 million euros to support Romanian ports, which faced an increase in cargo after the beginning of the Russian  invasion of Ukraine.
