MTWTUU strengthens cooperation with Dutch shipowners


The Ukrainian Shipowners’ Union continues to expand the representation of Ukrainian seafarers among leading international employers.

The head of the Ukrainian Shipowners’ Union, Oleh Hryhoryuk, held a meeting with representatives of the Royal Netherlands Shipowners’ Association , the union reported.

The Dutch ship register has about 800 vessels, and the country’s national fleet is one of the most modern and innovative in the world, which is why this market is very promising for Ukrainian seafarers.

“Ukrainian seafarers remain an important part of world shipping, and our task is to strengthen their presence in the fleets of leading maritime powers,” said Hryhoryuk.

During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation, employment issues for Ukrainian seafarers, working conditions on ships of Dutch shipowners, as well as prospects for expanding the presence of Ukrainian specialists in international crews.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine and Italy are strengthening cooperation in the field of seafarer training.
