Mykolaiv ports are 90% ready for the “grain initiative”
Mykolaiv ports and operators are 90% ready to work along the “grain corridor”.
Despite the readiness of the ports to join the “grain agreement”, Russia’s consent is necessary due to the danger of shelling. The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim said this during the Ukrinform briefing.
According to him, currently Mykolaiv ports and operators are 90% ready to work on the “grain corridor”. But the liberation of Kinbourn Spit is an additional factor that could open up this possibility.
“The first and main one: this is the consent of the Russians, so that the grain ports of the Mykolaiv Oblast become operational. Because we don’t shoot at our ships. The danger comes from the Russians, who fired at barges trying to leave Mykolaiv port in the direction of Odesa. At the moment, it is dangerous and depends on the Russians,” said Kim.
Previously, USM reported that the port of Mykolaiv is preparing to resume operations and is already working on projects to improve the service of various types of vessels.
Also, in recent years, yje purchases of grain by individual trading companies are gradually returning in the Mykolaiv port.
