The Chornomorsk Sea Port has tested new environmental protection equipment previously provided by European partners.

The equipment was provided free of charge within the framework of an agreement between the State Enterprise “USPA” and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), the Chornomorsk Sea Port Authority reported.

The new equipment will allow the port to strengthen the environmental sustainability of the port infrastructure and significantly increase the speed of response to any environmental challenges, ensuring reliable protection of the marine ecosystem even in extremely difficult conditions.

“Under the leadership of the head of the fleet service Oleg Andrusenko, the port workers tested a set of modern equipment for rapid response to environmental pollution: an inflatable barge with a capacity of 10 cubic meters, a submersible hydraulic pump and a diesel-powered hydraulic power station,” the Administration said.

The testing of the equipment was successful and confirmed the full readiness of the equipment for the prompt elimination of potential pollution and monitoring of the state of the environment.
