OSCE representatives discussed shipping safety in Mariupol port


The OSCE Mission visited the port of Mariupol to discuss the topic of freedom of navigation in the Black and Azov Seas.

According to the press service, today, June 14, the OSCE Chairman and Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde visited the port of Mariupol. Together with the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavel Kirilenko, they discussed security in the Sea of ​​Azov and measures to strengthen coastal defense.

“The dominant theme for the current OSCE head was security issues, in particular, freedom of navigation in the Black and Azov Seas,” the press service said. Ann Linde also got acquainted with the situation in the Kerch-Yenikalsky canal, which connects the Azov and Black seas.

Earlier, the European Parliament called on the EU, in cooperation with the member states, to ensure constant monitoring of the freedom of navigation in the Kerch Strait.
