Prices for food wheat have increased in Danube ports

In the Danube ports, the demand prices for food wheat increased by $1–4 per ton this week due to low grain supply from farmers.

As of August 12, grade 2 wheat in the Danube ports is mainly purchased at $166–175 per ton CPT-port, grade 3 – at $165–173 per ton.

Companies are raising purchase prices in order to urgently close previously concluded positions.

At the same time, farmers are in no hurry to sell grain, since the current price level remains below profitability.

The market is also pressured by problems with grain exports due to Russian attacks on port and railway infrastructure, abnormal shallow water, and limited throughput capacity of the Danube.
