Ukrainian grain exports fell by 76% in August

In the first 12 days of August, Ukraine exported only 280 thousand tons of grain and legumes, while last year this figure exceeded 1.15 million tons.

Ukraine has exported 280 thousand tons of grain and legumes since the beginning of August 2026. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service published on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

This figure is 75.7% less than for the same period last year, when 1.153 million tons were exported.

At the same time, since the beginning of the 2026/27 marketing year, Ukraine has exported 2.95 million tons of grain and legumes. This is 4.8% more than the figure for the same period last season — 2.82 million tons.

As of August 12, Ukraine exported the most grain by the following crops:

• corn — 1.38 million tons, 66.4% more than last year (827 thousand tons); in August — 68 thousand tons;

• wheat — 1.24 million tons, 18.3% less than last year (1.52 million tons); in August — 175 thousand tons;

• barley — 333 thousand tons, 28.1% less than last year (463 thousand tons); in August — 37 thousand tons.

Rye, like a year earlier, has not yet been exported.

At the same time, wheat flour exports have decreased by 53.4% ​​since the beginning of the 2026/27 MY — to 2.7 thousand tons, compared to 5.8 thousand tons for the same period last year. In August, Ukraine exported 0.8 thousand tons of flour.

The day before, USM reported that due to the shutdown of ports, Ukraine could export less than half of the planned agricultural products.
