Russia lost $40 billion due to oil sanctions

Due to the introduction of the oil embargo and the reduction of price caps, Russia lost $40 billion from the annual budget.

Russia has already lost approximately $40 billion of its annual budget through embargoes and price caps alone. Adviser to the President’s Office, Vladyslav Vlasyuk, stated this on the air of the telethon, “Ukrinform’ reports.

“The adoption of sanctions takes more time than we would like, but it leads to the good results we see,” Vlasyuk commented.

According to him, it is important to work on the implementation of sanctions against the military-industrial and energy sectors of the Russian Federation. That is, all sanctions are aimed either at reducing the capabilities of the military potential, or at reducing financial income in the Russian Federation.

Vlasyuk added that Ukraine continues to put pressure on its partners regarding further sanctions, and price caps for Russia can be lowered further.

USM previously reported that Russian seaborne exports of oil products fell by 5% in April, compared to the previous month.

The volumes of Rosneft’s sea exports in April decreased to 11.383 million tons — from 12.374 million in March. Thus, sales of energy carriers from the Russian Federation decreased by 5%.
