Russia massively attacked the port and energy infrastructure of the Odesa region

The attack damaged berths, warehouses, administrative buildings and facilities of the sea terminal.

On the night of March 26, Russian troops launched a massive drone strike on the Odesa region. The main blow fell on the Izmail district, where damage was recorded to the port and energy infrastructure, the Izmail Regional State Administration reported.

According to the district administration, damage was recorded in two locations – in Izmail and the Vylkiv community. Before the attack, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the movement of several groups of attack UAVs from the Black Sea in the direction of the Odesa region.

The USPA press service confirmed that the strike damaged port infrastructure facilities, in particular warehouses, berths and administrative buildings. There is also damage on the territory of individual port operators and the sea terminal.

Fires broke out in the areas, which were quickly extinguished by rescuers. Due to the shelling, there were power outages in some settlements, and critical infrastructure was switched to backup power.

According to the latest data, one person was injured as a result of the attack. At the same time, the USPA reported that there were no casualties directly at the port facilities.

Despite the attack, the ports of the region continue to operate, taking into account security restrictions and the current situation. Emergency and recovery work is ongoing on the ground.

At the same time, as USM wrote the day before, the first civilian teams have appeared in Ukrainian ports to shoot down drones.
