Сargo transportation between Ukraine and Poland increased by more than 30%
During the past year, the volume of cargo transportation between Ukraine and Poland increased by more than a third.
In 2022, 16.9 million tons of cargo were transported through border crossings between countries — 4.5 million tons or 36.7% more than a year earlier, reports Rail.insider with reference to the deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Valery Tkacheva.
According to him, the increase in the volume of transportation was observed at all active crossings.
The largest amount of cargo was transported by the PKP LHS broad-gauge railway — more than 11 million tons, which is 1.3 million tons higher than in 2021.
Previously, USM reported that Poland plans to participate in the Grain From Ukraine initiative, within which Ukraine plans to export at least 60 ships with grain to Asian and African countries.
