Sichkar: Trucks stand idle for weeks in Constanta, and documents are processed with delays

Ukrainian cargoes rerouted through the Romanian port of Constanta are facing long delays in road delivery and customs clearance.

Ukrainian cargoes passing through the Romanian port of Constanta are facing long delays in clearance and road logistics.

According to Sichkar, due to the reorientation of part of Ukrainian cargo flows to Constanta, the port is operating under a significant load.

“Cars stand idle there for weeks, documents are processed for a very long time, and all this causes some indignation,” he noted.

Sichkar also reported, citing a company agent, that between September 14 and 22, a significant part of customs inspectors were sent for advanced training, and only three employees were left at the port to carry out clearance.

According to Sichkar, this further slowed down the processing of documents and exacerbated problems with the passage of cargo through the port. USM previously reported that the first stage of modernization of the railway infrastructure is being completed in the port of Constanta.
