Tariffs for vessel passage have changed in Sulina in 2026: what is known

The Sulina Canal Administration has published tariffs for 2026 for passage through the canal.

This was reported by Avalon Shipping Operations Manager Kateryna Kononenko.

According to her, in 2026 the tariff for passage of vessels through the Sulina Canal will change, in particular, passage with cargo will become cheaper, and passage in ballast will become more expensive. The new tariff will be:

• One passage with cargo – $ 1.98 / deadweight ton.

• One passage in ballast – $ 0.77 / deadweight ton.

As Kononenko notes, for comparison, in 2025 it was $ 2.04 and $ 0.57 / deadweight ton, respectively.

“However, the general trend is an increase in tariffs. For comparison, entry/exit (in ballast/with cargo) in 2025 was 2.61, and in 2026 it will be 2.76 dollars/deadweight ton. For a vessel with a deadweight of 5,000 tons, this is an additional $ 300-400 to the PDA,” the expert summarized.
