The bail of the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy was increased to almost UAH 5 million
The appeals chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court increased the bail of the deputy of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, who is suspected of embezzling millions during the procurement of products for humanitarian aid.
On October 6, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the request of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office prosecutor, the prosecutor’s office reported.
Thus, the chamber changed the preventive measure chosen for the first deputy minister of agricultural policy – one of the suspects in the case of abuses in the amount of more than UAH 62 million during the procurement of products for humanitarian aid.
The panel of judges annulled the ruling of the investigating judge from August 31 regarding the bail amount of UAH 805,000 and issued a new one. According to it, the amount of the pledge was determined in the amount of UAH 4,997,608.
The Appellate Chamber also imposed an additional obligation on the person – to wear an electronic means of control.
We will remind, on August 24, the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food and the former Deputy Minister of Economy about the suspicion. Abuses by officials during the procurement of food products to meet the needs of the state during the martial law caused damages in the amount of UAH 62.5 million.
The food was intended as humanitarian aid for the population of Donetsk, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, and Poltava regions and the city of Kyiv.
