The Cabinet of Ministers appointed an interim head of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed the interim chairman of the board of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.

The government has appointed Oleksandr Yurchenko as the interim chairman of the SFGCU. This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers’ order dated December 3, Latifundist reports.

Previously, Yurchenko was the director of the legal department of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.

On November 29, Dmytro Gapchych, who had headed the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine since August 29, 2023, was dismissed from the position of chairman of the corporation at his own request.

Earlier, USM reported that the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court arrested the former head of the Corporation, Petro Vovchuk.

The investigation established that during July-October 2014, State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine officials organized the conclusion and execution of foreign economic contracts for the sale of grain products to controlled enterprises at understated prices. Among the participants in the scheme are the chairman of the board, as well as a representative of an international grain trader.

According to the criminal scheme, grain belonging to a state-owned company was delivered to Saudi Arabia through a number of companies on a cash-on-delivery basis. However, the money for the delivered grain was never paid, resulting in the state corporation suffering losses of over $60 million.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a state guarantee for the Chinese loan to the State Agricultural Production Corporation.
