A participant in the marathon felt sick during a long climb. Doctors tried to help him, but they could not save him.

The Primorye Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the death of a 41-year-old marathon participant in Vladivostok, without naming him, and announced an investigation.

Reports of Vityutnev’s death emphasize that all marathon participants underwent a medical check-up before being allowed to start.
