The cost of transit of Ukrainian grain through Moldova will be reduced
The cost of transit of agricultural products from Ukraine through the territory of Moldova was agreed to be reduced by 25%.
At the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Moldovan Business Council, it was agreed to reduce the cost of transporting grain through the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The cost of transit is planned to be reduced by at least 25-27%, USPP reported. Clarifications on the mechanism of obtaining a discount will be provided by mid-July.
Moldova is also actively working on increasing capacity and modernizing the railway in order to transport more Ukrainian grain. Yes, several additional transport corridors were opened in the country. “Ukrzaliznytsia” was involved in the work.
The participants of the meeting emphasized that it is necessary to involve Romania as much as possible in such transit projects, whose ports are used for Ukrainian exports. Currently, tripartite working groups are working on the implementation of the initiative.
Experts said that the simplification of border control of cargoes will facilitate transshipment of Ukrainian grain through Moldova/Romania up to 1 million tons per month.
It will be recalled that in mid-June, Moldova considered a project to reduce the cost of Ukrainian grain transit by rail. Then the proposals were transferred to the Ukrainian side for study.
