The first tanker with 40 thousand tons of Russian diesel will leave for the USA

The first tanker with 40 thousand tons of Russian diesel fuel is to leave Ust-Luga for the United States in the near future.
This was stated by the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy of Ukraine Vladyslav Vlasyuk.
He specified that 40 thousand tons of Russian diesel fuel will cover less than two hours of American consumption, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
According to his calculations, 40 thousand tons of diesel fuel is approximately 300 thousand barrels. At the same time, the United States consumes about 4 million barrels of diesel fuel per day. Thus, the volume of the entire shipment corresponds to less than two hours of domestic fuel consumption in the United States.
Vlasyuk also drew attention to the fact that the United States itself exports about 1.5 million barrels of diesel fuel per day. Accordingly, a shipment of Russian fuel is approximately equal to several hours of American exports.
According to him, the tanker’s transfer from the Russian port of Ust-Luga to American terminals will take about 2.5-3 weeks.
During this time, according to Vlasyuk’s calculations, the United States will have time to export more than 4 million tons of its own diesel fuel – about a hundred times more than the volume of the Russian shipment.
“So, one of the world’s largest exporters of diesel fuel buys diesel from an aggressor country to cover two hours of its own demand?” – Vlasyuk noted.
He specified that he used EIA data for September-October for the calculations.
Earlier, USM reported that Russia had resumed diesel exports through the Baltic port of Primorsk.
