The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sybiga, commented on the attack by the Russians on the ship in Odesa

In just two days, Russian missile strikes damaged two civilian cargo ships in Odesa.

Russia, by striking civilian ships in the ports of Ukraine, is trying not only to weaken the country’s economy, but also to put millions of people around the world at risk of starvation. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.

“Yesterday – one with corn headed for Italy. Today — another one, as a result of which one person died and five were injured. Ships were damaged earlier in September. This is a deliberate tactic of terrorists,” Sybiga said.

The minister emphasized that Russia, resorting to attacks on civilian vessels, endangers global food security, increasing the risks of hunger for millions of people in different parts of the world.

“We must join the efforts of all responsible states and organizations to stop the aggressor, ensure freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and global food security,” the minister emphasized.

We will remind, on October 7, the invaders struck the port infrastructure of Odesa with a ballistic missile. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel under the flag of Palau was damaged, a Ukrainian citizen was killed, and five foreigners were injured.

The day before, the Russians attacked a ship with Ukrainian corn in the port of Pivdennyi. There were about 6,000 tons of Ukrainian corn on the ship.
