The Minister of Economy called for reorienting agricultural exports from raw materials to processed products

Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev at Grain Ukraine 2026 called for reorienting the agricultural sector to enter markets outside the European Union.
Ukraine should focus not on the volume of agricultural exports, but on the production of value-added goods. This was stated by Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev during the Grain Ukraine 2026 conference, writes Agroportal.
“Ukraine needs significant investments in creating added value and processing most of the raw materials. After all, from the point of view of logistics and the domestic market, Ukraine does not consume everything it produces. Therefore, I think that this is how we can cooperate with the EU: to make Ukraine more technologically advanced, increase processing and production of value-added products for the benefit of both Ukraine and the EU,” Sobolev noted.
As USM reported, the Government recently simplified the mechanism for exempting agricultural producers from export duties on soybeans and rapeseed.
