The Netherlands will transfer the mine-clearing ship “Henichesk” to Ukraine in June

The Netherlands will fully prepare the crew and hand over the Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures ship to Ukraine in June.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Etten.
Zelenskyy said that the Netherlands will fully prepare the crew and hand over the ship to Ukraine in June. It will be named “Henichesk” in honor of the Ukrainian ship lost during a combat mission in June 2022 near the Kinburn Spit.
This is the fifth ship in the future mine countermeasures fleet of Ukraine and the second one from the Netherlands.
“Thank you for such help. We really appreciate that the Dutch people are helping us so much in this. I presented the Chief of Defense of the Netherlands, Onno Eichelsheim, and our defenders with awards. Thank you for the meeting!”, the president wrote.
Earlier, USM reported that the Netherlands had handed over an Alkmaar-type mine countermeasures ship to Ukraine.
