Nibulon has combined the grain elevator and logistics areas into a single system

Agroholding Nibulon has combined elevators and logistics into one direction, and has also rebuilt its business model.

This was stated by the director of logistics and elevator direction of the company, Sergiy Kalkutin, in an interview with Elevatorist.

According to him, the company has integrated elevators into a single logistics chain and abandoned the model in which these directions work separately.

Kalkutin explained that Nibulon is building a system from field to export in order to more effectively manage grain flows and costs. The company turned to such a model because of losses after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, in particular, because of the agriholding’s dependence on river infrastructure.

Under the new model, elevators work as part of the general supply chain, like transport and ports. Elevators are integrated into export contracts and sales planning.

The agriholding is also transforming its approach to network management: directors remain at the enterprises, but all elevators work as a single system. Nibulon is implementing a brigade model: some functions are performed by mobile teams that move between facilities depending on needs.

Thus, groups of engineers are responsible for several elevators. The agricultural holding expects that thanks to automation, less than ten people will work at one elevator.

Earlier, USM reported that Nibulon is scaling up river transportation on the Danube and opening the Moldova route.
