The new pier of the Orlivka ferry complex will be operational by the end of the year
A new pier will be operational on the territory of the Orlivka ferry complex, which will be used for the transshipment of various cargoes, in particular, oil crops.
Yuriy Dimchoglo, the founder of the Orlivka ferry complex, said this in an interview with USM.
According to him, the construction of another sea pier, which will be universal, is currently being planned.
“That is, it will be a berth for all types of cargo, including oil crops. We have already started construction, and also purchased a tanker with the ability to store one and a half thousand tons of oil cargo,” Yuriy Dimchoglo shared.
He also added that in the period of 2022-2023, the monthly volume of transshipment from the two berths reached 100-120 thousand tons of cargo. After the opening of the ports of Great Odesa in October 2023, volumes dropped significantly. As of today, transshipment is approximately 50,000 tons per month.
It should be noted that the launch of the new pier is expected by the end of 2024.
We will remind you that about 2 million euros were invested in the development of the terminal near the Orlivka-Isaccea crossing at the beginning of last year. A pier with a length of 220 m and a depth of 7 m was built near the crossing.
