The Odesa Regional Military Administration discussed the security and development of the ports of Great Odesa and the Danube


The participants of the meeting confirmed their readiness for further cooperation for the stable functioning of the port industry of the Odesa region in wartime.

The Odesa Regional Military Administration held a working meeting with port operators of Great Odesa and Danube ports. This was reported by the Regional Military Administration press service.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Odesa maritime complex remains one of the key sectors of the regional economy. It provides over 50 thousand jobs, generates significant tax revenues and actively invests in the development of port infrastructure.

The participants of the meeting discussed a number of priority issues:

• strengthening the safety of workers and port facilities,

• strengthening the defense capability of coastal zones and water areas,

• restoring damaged infrastructure,

• mechanisms for insurance and personnel reservation,

• improving tariff policy to increase the competitiveness of ports.

In addition, the Regional Military Administration, together with Stella Maris Ukraine, presented the concept of creating a “Port Security Center” – a humanitarian hub that will coordinate actions during crisis situations and facilitate interaction with international partners.

Also, the day before, new sanctions against the Russian fleet were discussed in Kyiv.
