UGA and Danube Commission discussed increasing the Danube’s capacity

The Ukrainian Grain Association discussed with the Danube Commission and FAO the possibilities of increasing the Danube’s capacity and developing a route for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
This was reported by the UGA press service following the meeting of the President of the Association Mykola Gorbachev with the Head of the Danube Commission Manfred Seitz and the FAO representative Dmytro Prykhodko.
In particular, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of the Danube transport corridor and its role in Ukrainian agricultural exports. They also agreed to hold a joint event in the spring of 2027 dedicated to the development of the Danube as a transport artery.
In September 2026, almost 1 million tons of agricultural products were exported through Ukrainian Danube ports. For comparison, in March 2023, at the peak of the direction, Danube ports ensured the export of about 2 million tons of grain and its processed products.
The UGA emphasized that these indicators indicate the potential for further growth of exports through Ukrainian ports on the Danube. The development of the route should expand access of agricultural producers to foreign markets and create more favorable conditions for the sale of grown products.
