Ukraine and Britain discussed public-private projects in ports


The parties discussed the issues of restoring and modernizing Ukraine’s transport infrastructure, in particular the maritime and railway sectors.

This was reported by the Ministry of Development.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba held a bilateral meeting with Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom – Minister for Aviation, Maritime Transport and Decarbonization Cyrus Mather.

The parties discussed the issues of restoring and modernizing Ukraine’s transport infrastructure, in particular the road, maritime, aviation and railway sectors.

Among the key topics:

• Ukraine’s needs within the framework of the Infrastructure Taskforce;

• continued cooperation with the UK government’s expert and lending agency UKEF;

• development of port infrastructure and implementation of public-private partnership projects in ports;

• needs and assistance from British companies for Ukrzaliznytsia.

Oleksiy Kuleba also thanked the UK for its systematic support for Ukraine and its willingness to work on long-term projects to restore and modernize transport infrastructure. Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainian ports increased transshipment by more than 35% despite the shelling.
