The court recognized the losses of Nibulon and Agroton in the occupied Luhansk region at over UAH 6 billion

The court recognized the losses of the agricultural holdings “Nibulon” and “Agroton” in the occupied Luhansk region at more than 6 billion UAH.

The court recognized that the Ukrainian agricultural holdings “Nibulon” and “Agroton” lost assets in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region at more than 6.1 billion UAH. The court adopted the relevant verdict on May 6.

The court also found the former so-called Minister of Agriculture of the “LPR” guilty of aiding the aggressor state and violating the laws and customs of war. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison with confiscation of all property and a ban on holding positions in government bodies for a period of 15 years.

According to the court, after the occupation of part of the Luhansk region, representatives of the occupation administration organized a mechanism for “external management” of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises. The invaders took control of the branches of LLC JV “Nibulon” in Svatove, Bilovodsk, Novopskov, Troitsky and Starobilsk, LLC “Starobilsky Elevator”, PrJSC “Agroton” and PE SVF “Agro”.

The case materials indicate that the assets and grain products of the enterprises were transferred to the management of the “Luhansk Agroindustrial Company” created by the occupation authorities, and later – to the “Agrosfera” structure, associated with citizens of the Russian Federation.

The court also established that the defendants organized the harvest from lands with an area of ​​51 thousand hectares, carried out an inventory of property, transferred control of elevators and ensured the export of grain through the occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions to Russia.

The verdict notes that as a result of these actions, Ukrainian companies lost the opportunity to own and manage their property complexes, agricultural products and mineral fertilizers.

“The owners suffered material damage in the amount of UAH 6,148,404,596,” the court’s verdict states.

The court partially satisfied the civil claims of the affected companies. In particular, it ruled to jointly recover UAH 1.407 billion from the so-called “LPR” minister and the Russian Federation in favor of Nibulon, UAH 314.4 million in favor of PE SVF Agro, and UAH 1.415 billion in favor of PrJSC Agroton.
