Ukraine and Moldova introduce joint control on the railway route to the ports on the Danube
The border guards of Ukraine and Moldova have completed all procedures regarding the organization of joint control at the Serpneve-1 — Basarabyaska checkpoint on the Berezyne — Basarabyaska railway line.
The relevant protocol was signed by the parties online on Wednesday, March 22, the press service of the State Border Service reported.
“Joint control at the checkpoint will not only activate trade and economic activity between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, but will also strengthen our cooperation in border management,” said Serhii Deineko, head of the State Border Service.
According to Deineko, the parties will also more efficiently and rationally control the movement of vehicles and goods on the common section of the border.
The train checkpoint is ready for joint control. Proceedings will begin at midnight on Saturday, March 25.
