Ukraine has formed coal reserves due to sea supplies

Thermal coal reserves at thermal power plants and cogenerations in Ukraine exceeded last year’s figures. The main growth factor is sea supplies of solid fuel.

On Friday, January 14th, coal reserves in the warehouses of thermal power plants and cogenerations for the first time in this heating season exceeded coal reserves on the same date last year. This was announced by deputy Andrii Herus.

Thus, as of January 14th, there were 734.1 thousand tons of coal in the warehouses. A year ago, the reserves amounted to 711 thousand tons. Already since the beginning of winter, the amount of fuel has increased by 248 thousand tons (or 51%).

The deputy noted that one of the main factors of such dynamics was sea imports: as of January 14th, DTEK accepted 7 vessels, and Centrenergo – 4 vessels with thermal coal.
