Ukraine is opening new markets for the export of agricultural products
The State Production and Consumer Service plans to open 240 new markets for the export of agricultural products within five years.
The entity’s plans were shared by the head of the State Production and Consumer Service Serhiy Tkachuk during the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
“We are one of the key players in the state responsible for the processes of opening new markets: we work with more than 60 countries regarding products of plant and animal origin. There are plans to open 240 new markets within five years,” said Tkachuk.
According to him, Ukraine currently has access to the export of agricultural products in 340 trade directions. Tkachuk added that the implementation of EU requirements is a priority for Ukraine.
“Implementation of EU requirements for Ukraine is now one of the priorities. But at the same time, it is important for us to defend our interests — the interests of Ukrainian business, first of all. In particular, the current tasks include maintaining stable trade with partner countries, removing barriers that prevent exports, removing restrictions on the export of certain types of products, and simplifying certification and transit procedures,” added the head of the State Production and Consumer Service.
We will remind, earlier the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Koval shared the opinion that Ukraine needs to open new markets and switch to deep processing.
