Ukrainian Danube Shipping is reforming the fleet support system
PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” initiates provision of the fleet under a new scheme.
One of the still unsolved problems of shipping is the lack of coordination and planning in the ship support system.
Now the enterprise should create a system of electronic inventory information, which will contain all the information regarding the maintenance of each vessel, said the Acting Director General of the “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” Dmytro Moskalenko.
The Ukrainian Danube Shipping also plans to create a central warehouse with a suitable stock of the entire range of materials, tools, and tools needed for the operation of ships.
The task of the crew is to regularly update the data in the electronic information. The task of the supply department is to keep a sufficient supply of everything necessary in the warehouse, to replenish the warehouse in time, focusing on data from electronic information.
It is necessary to reform the fleet maintenance system in order to reduce the risk of downtime and fines due to untimely provision of vessels. With the reform, supply becomes standardized for all ships in the fleet, and purchases receive a real warranty and service.
The Ukrainian Danube Shipping repair program should work according to this principle. Search and procurement will continue to be carried out individually, for each vessel separately. But it is possible to make the process of preparing for repairs manageable and predictable if you make purchases in advance, focusing on the schedule of repair work.
